Brand Leadership
The business has moved on, but the brand hasn’t. Or it exists, but only on paper. People interpret it differently, decisions take longer than they should, and things don’t quite line up.
So we step back and sort that out.
I’m Gavin Auty.
I work with organisations on their brand. Sometimes that’s designing it, sometimes it’s helping people figure out what it actually is and what it’s supposed to be doing. A lot of the time it’s somewhere in between.
Because most organisations have a brand already. It’s just not always clear, or not quite doing what it could. So the work tends to be about making sense of it, shaping it a bit, and getting it to a point where it actually helps — not just how things look, but how the business thinks and communicates.
I’ve been doing this for about twenty years, across all sorts of organisations. Some big, some small. Airlines, bakeries, and plenty of things in between.
Whatever the context, I try to understand what’s going on, what’s working, what isn’t, and where things feel harder than they should. Then we figure out what needs to change and how to make it stick.
Sometimes that’s more thinking, sometimes it’s more design, often both. The aim is always the same though — to get to something that’s clear enough to understand, consistent enough to use, and solid enough to support the business as it moves forward.
